| 抄録別表記: | A survey was conducted against the aged 75 years and over, dimentia or confined to bed, living in commercial areas in Tokyo, to find out problems their families have on caring, and to investigate how to cope with the situation. Firstly, the questionnaring was conducted on 1, 129 people of 75 years old and over, to grasp their health condition on the whole. Secondly, visiting 72 persons with dimentia or bedridden, who were selected through a screening, researchers interviewed them and their families at their home. The findings of this survey are as follows:1. Of the surveyed, 33.4% suffer from some sorts of palalysis or contriction as a disordered condition resulted from the original disases. The degree of disorder was evaluated by the Criteria for Dimentia by Hasegawa at al:52% in low degree, 19% in moderate degree, and 29% in high degree.2. More than half of the surveyed live with their families including three-generation-households and two-generation-households, and they are taken care of their daughters-in-low(32.5%) or their daughters(24.7%). Of those taking care of the aged, about 50% are 45 to 59 years of age, so-called middle or advanced generations.3. As problems awaiting care-givers, a number of these complaints are mentioned:I)it is almost impossible for a care-giver to go out, ii) the family's daily routine activity is completely disturbed, and iii) every member of the family is worn out mentally as well as physically. |
