| 抄録: | 2002年,2003年の2年にわたり聖路加看護大学2年生の英語語嚢の大きさをNationのVocabulary Levels Testを
用いて測定した結果,約2,800語となった。日本の大学生の平均を上回るこの結果は本学の英語教育の教材や指導法の選択に役立つであろう。 |
| 抄録別表記: | This study shows the approximate English vocabulary size of the students of St. Luke's College of
Nursing. Thrqugh tests on two groups of 30 and 32 sophomores with Vocabulary Levels Test developed
by Nation, their vocabulary size was estimated to be around 2,800 family words. This size is
close to the threshold level of 3,000 words, the number of words second language learners need to
transfer their native reading strategies to reading comprehension in a foreign language. Therefore,
authentic books may· be more preferable for them than abbreviated ones as a classroom textbook. |
